Call to scrap ‘arbitrary’ New Homes Bonus

A county council has called for the New Homes Bonus to be dropped altogether in a withering response to a government consultation.

North Yorkshire CC labelled the scheme ‘arbitrary’ and questioned whether it incentivises housebuilding, adding it was ‘driven largely by factors outside of the direct control of the local authority’.
