Calls to increase funding to halt rise in homelessness

Calls have been made for increased funding for measures to prevent people becoming homeless as figures show mounting pressure on councils.

The Local Government Association (LGA) and charity Crisis are among those who made the case as official figures showing rising numbers of homelessness were released today by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
