Northern Ireland’s financial watchdog has warned of challenging years ahead for the region’s councils.
The Northern Ireland Audit Office found all 15 local government audit opinions for 2019-20 financial statements were unqualified, but expenditure continued to exceed income, with the shortfall reaching £85m.
