Conservative Street in housing benefits freeze call

West Midlands Mayor Andy Street has called on his own party to reduce homelessness by reversing the housing benefits freeze.

Mayor Street said the three-year freeze of Local Housing Allowance (LHA), which is part of Universal Credit, was a ‘major factor contributing to the increase in homelessness’.
