Council defends chief following court settlement

North Northamptonshire has defended a former council chief executive after settling a claim of abuse of process.

A settlement of £4m was agreed with former publican Geoffrey Monks for ‘personal injury, loss, and damage’ incurred during a 20-year legal battle with one of North Northamptonshire’s predecessor authorities, East Northamptonshire DC.
