Council in urgent plea for refugee support

Greenwich LBC has said promised government support for refugees arriving in the borough has failed to materialise.

The council has been left to step in, redeploying ‘large numbers of staff’ and ‘significant amounts of money’ to care for almost 700 people from Afghanistan.
