Councils call for ‘assurance’ on elections

Officers handed the task of holding elections during a pandemic have appealed for more help from Whitehall.

While welcoming the extra funding pledged by the Government, the chief executive of the Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA), Peter Stanyon, reminded civil servants that ‘local authorities are stretched to the limit’.
