Health and social care funding will take centre stage at the upcoming LGA conference, but Cllr Izzi Seccombe questions whether local authorities will get the opportunity to shape their own services

Just last month, I wrote about how local authority leaders are awaiting with interest the coming Budget and Comprehensive Spending Review, and the clarity we hope this will bring to questions on funding for health and social care.

This remains the case, but in the meantime, next week the annual Local Government Association (LGA) conference takes place in Harrogate. With sessions on social care integration and funding taking centre stage, undoubtedly the future of health and social care will be front of mind for those attending the three days of the conference.
