Director recalls 'huge shock' of child abuse scandal

A council criticised for failings over a historic child sexual exploitation (CSE) ring has warned other authorities not to fall victim to complacency.

Lucy Butler, who was promoted to director for children’s services at Oxfordshire CC in 2016, shared the council’s experience with others at the National Children and Adult Services Conference in Manchester last week.
