Districts have a key role to play

Sometimes there are moments in this job when the fog created by all the ‘stuff’ of managing a complex organisation, including the need to be constantly vigilant about money, how to spend it and where the next lot is coming from lifts, and we get to remember why we do this.

I had such a moment last week when I met the young family who moved into the new council homes we recently built – the first in 25 years.
