Districts need more certainty on funding

With the General Election behind us, we need to make quick progress with the Spending Review, fair funding review and implementation of 75% business rates.

The Society of District Council Treasurers supported a deferral of the reviews in 2019 because we wanted to avoid a last-minute cliff edge for our budgets in 2020/21. However, 12 months is going to slip through our fingers and, if we’re not careful, we’ll be facing the same cliff edge for 2021/22.
