Former chancellor George Osborne has urged the Government to ‘fire up Northern Powerhouse 2.0’ as he backed more devolution for the North.

Former chancellor George Osborne has urged the Government to ‘fire up Northern Powerhouse 2.0' as he backed more devolution for the North.

Speaking at the Conservative's Northern Research Group (NRG) Conference in Doncaster, Mr Osborne called for new ‘Transpennine transport links and investment in science and tech' for the region.
