God is in the detail

The new Government has now announced its first Budget and no doubt we are all working through the documents to get our heads around the detail and figure out what else we need to make sense of it.

I would not be surprised if some of the headlines were warmly welcomed: £30bn to support the economy through the impact of COVID-19; money for roads, potholes and transforming cities; money for housing and reduced borrowing costs for the Housing Revenue Account; a promise to review business rates and a solution to social care, and last but not least, a commitment to completing the Spending Review by July.
