Government takes action over Nottingham’s ‘appalling’ finances

The Government is to assemble a team of experts to help Nottingham City Council bring its finances under control following a damning assessment.

A rapid review of governance and finances at the council, published today, found it had ‘failed to act on warnings,’ leading to a significant budget gap and depleted reserves.
