Interim chief resigns over ‘pre-determined’ appointment process

Newport City Council’s interim chief executive has resigned after heavily criticising the process for making a permanent appointment.

Sheila Davies, who held a strategic director role at Newport earlier in her career, returned to the council after being appointed as interim chief executive in October.
