Liverpool appoints new head of paid service

Liverpool City Council has appointed its director of adult services and health, Anne Marie Lubanski, as the authority’s head of paid service.

Liverpool City Council has appointed its director of adult services and health, Anne Marie Lubanski, as the authority's head of paid service.

It follows the departure of chief executive Tony Reeves yesterday, as the council embarks on a recruitment process for an interim chief executive officer.

Ms Lubanski joined Liverpool in January from Rotherham MBC, where she was strategic director of adult care, housing and public health.

She also spent eight years at North Yorkshire CC.

A council statement read: ‘Anne Marie is a well-respected leader within the council, with a wealth of experience in local government and more than 35 years working in the social care sector.

‘Her role as interim head of paid service will be held while the council seeks to appoint an interim chief executive over the coming weeks.'

Mr Reeves resigned in the wake of a report that revealed Liverpool was struggling to make improvements to the satisfaction of Government-appointed commissioners.
