Northern Powerhouse 'downgrade' in reshuffle

The Government has been accused of ‘downgrading’ the Northern Powerhouse in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s cabinet reshuffle.

When Jake Berry, the minister responsible for the Northern Powerhouse, stood down from the role to spend more time with his family it was announced that his replacement Simon Clarke will not attend cabinet meetings in the same manner as his predecessor.
