Pension funds pile pressure on Barclays over fossil fuel financing

Four pension funds will pile pressure on Barclays to phase out its financing of fossil fuel companies.

The institutional investors – Brunel Pension Partnership, Local Government Pension Scheme Central, Merseyside Pension Fund and Falkirk Council Pension Fund – will make the formal request in a shareholders’ resolution, which will be voted on at Barclays’ annual meeting in May.
