Shadow minister backs Total Place return

Labour’s shadow local government minister has suggested a return to Total Place to tackle local government’s financial pressures.

Speaking at an event organised by the Institute for Government, Jim McMahon advocated multi-year settlements for the sector, but suggested any future Labour Government would have to contend with the ‘weakened foundations’ it inherited.
