Taxi law change demanded

Calls have been made for the Government to update taxi laws, some of which date back 170 years.

The Local Government Association (LGA) is leading the calls following claims in The Times that drivers were applying for licences in areas viewed as being a ‘soft touch’ before plying their trade with impunity in other areas with more stringent requirements.
