Towns Fund selection ‘warps economy’

Controversy over the selection process for the Towns Fund has led a campaign group to call for an end to ‘first past the post politics’.

The Electoral Reform Society (ERS) claimed political concerns overrode economic factors in the Towns Fund allocation, which has been denied by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s (MHCLG) top civil servant.
