Work begins on overhaul of asylum dispersal

Work will begin this summer on reforming the system for accommodating asylum seekers arriving in the country.

The dispersal system has faced heavy criticism for the burden placed on councils in the north-west and Glasgow, where accommodation costs to service providers are less expensive than other parts of the country.
