Like proverbial London buses, government announcements seem to arrive two or three at a time.
So, in Budget week, not only did we have the Budget itself, we also had publication of the Government's policy review for public services and the Lyons report.
A lot to get your head round.
Standing back from it all, what do all these announcements mean for local government? I would pick out seven headlines for councillors, chief executives and senior officers to ponder...
So a big agenda with which to grapple – and it's not finished yet. In May, the Government will announce a radical overhaul of the planning system, focused on streamlining procedures for developing big infrastructure projects.
