A Conservative backbench MP has called for Lancashire CC to be abolished after it agreed to close a number of community centres and libraries.

Nigel Evans, who represents the Ribble Valley constituency, told the Lancashire Telegraph, the council was ‘unfit' to run services after senior councillors agreed to cut the number of buildings the authority owns by more than 100 to save money.
