Acceptable school quality now starts at 'good' says Ofsted chief

Schools in East of England buck national 9% upward trend for school improvement.

Schools in the East of England have experienced the smallest amount of performance improvement since August 2012 (6%) and now have the lowest proportion of schools deemed good or outstanding (72%) of all the English regions, figures released today by Ofsted show.

Earlier this summer, Norfolk was singled out for early punishment by the schools' regulators for 'a legacy of underachievement' in boosting local education standards under the new framework.
