The president of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services has welcomed the appointment of Andrea Sutcliffe as chief inspector of adult social care services at the Care Quality Commission.

According to Sandie Keene, Ms Sutcliffe ‘has already made a significant impact on social care through her excellent leadership of the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE)'.

‘And, most importantly, she has engaged fully with the people who use our services to drive and influence change,' said Ms Keene.

‘Andrea has brought a keen, independent eye to lead SCIE during the past 18 months, and I am sure she will bring the same challenging, collaborative and supportive leadership to this new and important post within the CQC.'
