ADASS warns of £890m cut in care budget

According to ADASS' latest annual budget survey, England's councils will slash £890m from the nation's social care budget.

England's councils will slash £890m from the nation's social care budget throughout this financial year, according to the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services' (ADASS) latest annual budget survey.

Combined with last year's figures, the fresh cuts add up to a reduction of £1.89bn at a time when demographic pressures, and rising numbers of disabled patients, have stretched social care capacity, according to ADASS.
