The provision of affordable homes by district councils is a major way of helping tackle poverty, according to leading care think-tank, The King's Fund.

A report commissioned by the District Councils Network (DCN) says the efficient and high quality management and ownership of affordable housing is ‘the most important factor in the relationship between housing and poverty'.
