The lost decade has been blamed for a lot – most notably within the pages of The MJ, for the dwindling resources in local authorities and the stark reality of austerity. But the Marmot Review, published earlier this week, reveals life expectancy has stalled.
Health has stopped improving. Worse still, health inequality has increased, with women from the most deprived areas seeing their life expectancy drop. But perhaps most depressing of all – those women will spend more of their lives in poor health.
