Adopt code 'to pay businesses on time'

Local authorities have been urged to sign up to the Government's voluntary code on prompt bill payments, as part of a national campaign to end 'the culture of late payments'.

Local authorities have been urged to sign up to the Government's voluntary code on prompt bill payments, as part of a national campaign to end ‘the culture of late payments'.

The Local Government Association (LGA) estimates more than 160 councils and 1,000 large businesses are currently signed up to the Prompt payment code, (PPC) established in 2008.
