Adoption process must speed up says minister

Children's minister, Tim Loughton, has called for the adoption process to be speeded up.

Children's minister, Tim Loughton, has called for the adoption process to be speeded up, after it was revealed that just 60 babies were formally adopted last year.

According to figures published by the Department for Education last week, 60 children under the age of one were adopted in the year ending March 2011, compared with 150 in 2007.
