Amid all the excitement of this month's local elections, let's spare a thought for a rather anxious group.

There are currently over 50 chief executives trying to work out how to get on with a new political leader. These new faces are the result of the public vote on 3 May or a group vote producing a new leader (for the latter, see Camden and Brent among others).
