Many places traditionally thought of as affluent feature highly on lists of the 20 most unequal areas in England, new approaches to measuring inequality have shown.

The analysis by the University of Sheffield revealed that Tunbridge Wells, Guildford and Aldershot, High Wycombe and Aylesbury, Leamington Spa, Harrogate, Reading, Crawley, Newbury and Cambridge feature when two out of three of the different approaches to understanding inequalities are used.
