After the fire

Liaison with a wide range of sectors including emergency planners ensured a well-co-ordinated response after a ferocious fire at a listed seafront hotel in Eastbourne, says Tim Whelan.

When fire recently ripped through the Claremont Hotel on Eastbourne seafront, our response was quick and efficient, winning praise from emergency services.

The blaze started in the basement of the Grade II* listed building on the morning of Friday, November 22, and 12 fire engines responded, along with police and ambulances.
