How ageism shapes the design of our communities

Natalie Turner explains how ageism can impact how older people engage with their local community and the actions needed from community leaders to break down those barriers.

The newly published Women and Equalities Committee (WEC) report is pretty clear that ageism is a significant problem in our society.  

 The committee found ageism is associated with a range of individual and societal harms, with ageist stereotyping and discrimination preventing older people from participating fully in society.
