Air pollution fight 'a top priority' say MPs

Ministers have exaggerated local councils' ability to improve air quality and must prioritise action to reduce pollution from transport, Parliament's green watchdog warned this week.

The environmental audit committee (EAC) published a damning report on efforts to clean up the nation's air quality on 14 November. The MPs called on the Government to establish a national framework of low emissions zones to help councils reduce pollution.
