Ex-Capita Group executive chairman Rod Aldridge has denied ‘spurious' claims he loaned the Labour Party £1m in return for government contracts.

Mr Aldridge was one of 12 donors who lent Labour a total of £14m before the last election. He quit his Capita post last week.
