Chief secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander has warned unions the Government will not change its mind over pensions reform proposals and blocking change is ‘a colossal mistake.'

Ahead of planned strike action by up to 750,000 workers represented by civil service, teachers and lecturers unions on 30 June, the Liberal Democrat minister urged unions to collaborate in shaping reforms or risk the imposition of ‘urgent and uncompromising' changes.
