'Ambassadors' plan to drive social enterprises

Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude has appointed 15 ‘ambassadors' to encourage public sector workers to form social enterprises.

Speaking at the annual summit of the Society Of Local Authority Chief Executives on 18 October, Mr Maude said the mutuals ambassador programme would offer free advice to anyone looking to set up a social enterprise and identify new opportunities.
