Local government contractor Amec has revealed that business is still good, despite the ongoing fears about the credit crunch.

Long-term contracts, together with the company's involvement in major public infrastructure projects, have helped to deliver strong trading and predictions of continued growth.
Chief executive Samir Brikho told the City the company was making ‘excellent progress' as it released its interim results for the six months ending 30 June.
‘With both our end markets and trading performance remaining strong, our level of confidence in the outturn for this year is increased and we have raised our margin expectation for 2008 to 6.5%,' said Mr Brikho.
