Angela Scott appointed new Aberdeen chief executive

Aberdeen City Council has appointed the authority’s director of corporate governance, Angela Scott, as its new chief executive.

Aberdeen City Council has appointed the authority's director of corporate governance, Angela Scott, as its new chief executive.

Mrs Scott, who joined Aberdeen as recently as six months ago, will replace Valerie Watts on 1 July.

Ms Watts, who is to head up the Health and Social Care Commission Northern Ireland as its inaugural chief executive, is believed to have quit the council amid claims she was driven out by political squabbling in the Labour-led administration.
