The seemingly-never ending line of ‘blue' stand-up comedians appearing at council venues has long been the bane of local newspaper reporters' lives.

So kudos for Ashfield DC for showing Roy ‘Chubby' Brown the backstage door and cancelling his gig at the local authority-owned Festival Hall in October.
