Ashford BC has overhauled its waste collection services as part of determined efforts to raise the authority from the bottom of England's local authority recycling league table.

The council hopes to more than treble its current recycling rate through a 10-year £86m deal with contractors Biffa – which also involves neighbouring authorities Maidstone and Swale BC.
