Asset sales help to reduce frontline cuts

Frontline services would have faced further cuts if councils had not sold assets, the County Councils' Network (CCN) has said.

The comments follow an investigation by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism and HuffPost UK, which found councils have raised £9.1bn in property sales since 2016, with £3.2bn of that used to pay for cost-cutting measures.
