New assistant director joins Norfolk CC

Norfolk CC announces Kevin Peers as new assistant director to its children’s services leadership team.

Norfolk CC has announced the appointment of a new assistant director to its children's services leadership team.

Kevin Peers has joined the local authority as interim assistant director for safeguarding and looked-after children.

Mr Peers is the fifth new arrival to the leadership team in recent months, following the appointment of Sheila Lock as interim director of children's services.

‘Kevin is an experienced social worker with a significant track record of driving forward improvements in services,' said cabinet member for safeguarding, Cllr James Joyce.

‘It has been important to recruit the very best staff to address the concerns raised by Ofsted earlier this year and that has meant bringing in experienced leaders quickly when other staff have moved on.

‘We have a really strong team leading children's services and are all committed to ensuring the best for the county's children and young people.'
