Assistant Director – Public Access and Customer Service

We are seeking an Assistant Director to join our ambitious team and lead the way on transforming how we communicate and transact our business. This is an exciting brief and will cover all services and departments of the Council. You will be expected to innovate and introduce new delivery channels, make the very best use of technology and pioneer the techniques that will make us best in class in our customer and public interactions.

The role:

* Leadership and management of all the Council's customer services functions, covering a wide range of service areas.

* Full project life-cycle from developing the strategy and business case through to implementation.

* Wider corporate management responsibility as Assistant Director and part of the Council's leadership team.

The candidate:

* Proven ability to deliver results in a high transaction, public facing service environment.

* Experience of managing teams and delivering change in a fast moving political environment.

* A demonstrable understanding of customer service best practice and experience of introducing and managing high quality customer access across multiple services.
