Welsh spending watchdogs are poised to scrutinise the severance deal of Pembrokeshire County Council chief executive Bryn Parry-Jones.

The £330,000 payoff was agreed in a private session of council last week from which the press and public were excluded.

Mr Parry-Jones, who has spent nearly two decades as Pembrokeshire's chief, became mired in controversy following the publication in January of a Wales Audit Office report which found the authority had acted unlawfully in making pension pot opt-out payments.
