Authorities not convinced by school funding promise

Town hall bosses have warned that Michael Gove's recently-announced £4bn of school capital funding is not new money.

Town hall bosses have warned that Michael Gove's recently-announced £4bn of school capital funding is not new money.

The education secretary said on 1 March he was making £4bn available to create new school places and carry out maintenance and repair work to existing school buildings.
