'Baby P' boss goes back to court

Sharon Shoesmith, the former head of Haringey LBC’s children’s services, is set to return to the High Court next October.

Sharon Shoesmith, the former head of Haringey LBC's children's services, is set to return to the High Court next October to pursue a declaration she ‘remains employed' by the north London borough.

Ms Shoesmith is seeking both a judgment that would entitle her to salary and pension payments and damages against Haringey – following her dismissal in December 2008 at the behest of former education secretary Ed Balls.
