Two social workers at the heart of the 'Baby P' care incident are poised to appeal against unfair dismissal from Haringey LBC.

Lawyers acting for Gillie Christou and Maria Ward will cite last May's landmark Court of Appeal ruling which found Haringey's children's services director, Sharon Shoesmith, had been unfairly sacked without compensation by the council and former Children's Secretary Ed Balls.
